For over 23 years, the Lucky Afternoon Band has been providing high quality, professional variety dance and music entertainment throughout Central Pennsylvania.
The band’s high-energy and crowd interactive shows of rock, oldies, country, big band, bluegrass and patriotic selections have been enjoyed by generations at carnivals, clubs, fairs, parks, festivals, reunions, private and corporate events.
Based out of Selinsgrove, the band features a variety of musical styles and includes such instruments as the fiddle, banjo, trumpet, flute, and accordion along with rich vocals and harmonies by all band members.
Dave Stamm, who plays guitar, fiddle, banjo, trumpet and keyboards in the band, grew up in Harrisburg for 15 years, which provided a great environment to meet and perform with many musicians.
“In the late ’60s and early ’70s, it was a great time to learn how to play guitar as it was a great time when classic, rock and roll guitar music was flourishing,” he said.
Stamm was very active in high school band, jazz band, and chorus while also taking college level music theory classes. A long-time rocker, Stamm has been playing guitar, singing, and performing since he was 10 years old; he started playing in club bands at age 16.
